Yes, I'm fully aware that my birthday is only July 18th. But man, did I celebrate ALL last week!
1st of all, I haven't worked since... I don't know the week before my bday?
Friday, July 15, we had my sister Erin, her boyfriend Andrew, and my sisters Nori and Xavi staying over.
Saturday, July 16, we spent the day in Irvine for the Aquino Family Homecoming... yummy food and crazy Aquino Cousins talent show. You gotta love it. The tradition of the talent show/program has been around for over 3 generations now... it's kind of a big deal!
Sunday, the family all went to go see Charlie and the Chocolate Factory... sneakin' in Wonka brand candies-- of course! That night, we had even MORE people staying at our place: sister Nori, James, and Rolo. Joe's sister, Brenna, met up with us and we went to Reggae Gold in Century City for a good 45 minutes.
Monday, the day of my bday was pretty chill. We went to Melrose to shop for my bday 'fit and chill at the beach with my mom, sister Nori, boyfriend Joe and friend Sean. That night, we all went to my FAVORITE club in LA... "Respect Mondays" at The Room on Cahuenga. My girl Oakason, was celebrating her own bday and put on a big, fat birthday bashment. I couldn't believe that 50 of my buddies came through... it was pretty much off the chain! That night, my buddies from Sac came back to my house and hung out 'til 5 am or so... That time we had oh, 9-10 houseguests!?
Tuesday, I had a job interview that I was CLEARLY ill prepared for... er, let's not talk about that... but I headed back to Irvine to get my little sis Xavi, and my family surprised me with a mountain of cupcakes! Just like I wanted to bake for myself! MMMMmmm... strawberry cupcakes, too!
Wednesday, I had the girls and Sean staying over... pretty cool. We went shopping for books for them to read on the train going back home to Sac. We had a nice, quiet dinner with 7 guests... Sean, Nori, Xavi, Wayne, LaTasha, Albina, Ana, plus our roomie Julie.
Thursday, I took the girls to the train station with a load of snacks and books. Unfortunately for them, the train took 16 hours. But it WAS a scenic route along the coastline... My Sactown homie, Mike (the Superstar) brought his whole crew and what-not over for Joe's Jerk Chicken dinner and pretty much camped out in my living room... all 5 of 'em... the band, the girlfriend, and the New Yorker.
Friday, I had to pick up my buddy, Jansen, from the airport. It was pretty cool to bring him home for a Filipino Breakfast feast of chicken and pork longanisa, scrambled egg, and coconut rice... and then THEY ALL LEFT!
Whew! There you have it! My bday week~ "The Best Week Ever" as they would say on VH1... that was until Joe and I had our "Anniversary Week".
